Puma
Grunderna till Puma lades i Tyskland redan 1924 när bröderna Dassler på Gebrüder Dassler Schuhfabrik tillverkade löparskor i sin mammas tvätteria. Skorna nådde internationell uppmärksamhet 1936 vid Summer Olympics i Berlin, då en av bröderna, Adi Dassler, tog sig till OS-byn och övertalade den amerikanske sprintern Jesse Owens att använda skorna i sina tävlingar. Jesse Owens var den första sponsrade afro-amerikan någonsin och han vann fyra guldmedaljer under detta OS. 1948 splittrades bröderna Dassler, men båda fortsatte i skobranschen. Adi Dassler startade vad som senare blev Adidas, och Rudi´s företag ändrade 1948 namn till PUMA Schuhfabrik Rudolf Dassler.

The shoes got international recognition when one of the brothers, Adi Dassler, convinced the american sprinter Jesse Owens to use the shoes at the Berlin Summer Olympics in 1936.
