Reebok

The foundation of Reebok took place way back in 1860 in Holcombe Brook, a small village close to Bolton in England, when a man by the name of Joseph William Foster came up with the brilliant idea to produce a spiked running shoe. In 1895 he founded J.W. Foster and Sons, and almost 30 years later the company was acknowledged when they supplied running shoes for UK´s team at the Summer Olympics in 1924. In 1960 Fosters´s grandchildren changed the name to Reebok. The name itself comes from the Afrikaan´s spelling of "rhebok" meaning a gazelle or antelope.
